As part of our recruitment services, ACES undertakes presentations. This seeks to take to the door steps of all potential students, parents and guardians and sponsors, information on study opportunities available in our partner universities. During these presentations, students interact with our officer(s) and so are able to ask questions about issues that most interest them, particularly with regards to our partner universities and colleges. Opportunity is also given to those who may want to have a one-to-one talk with our officer(s).
These presentations are held on the campuses of some major second cycle and tertiary institutions in the country. At other occasions presentations are held at some public centres (e.g. Conference halls of hotels) for the general public to take advantage of. |

Choosing a school or course / application |
| |
|
| |
One most important issue in one’s academic success is what to study and in which school.
With the diversity of courses and programmes available in foreign universities, students often have difficulty in making the right choice. ACES’ experienced staff holds couselling sessions with students so as to assist them to choose their courses and schools which will lead them to their chosen careers. During counselling information on size of university or college, accommodation, fees and other financial issues, transportation, programmes and scholarship (if any) is fed to the student. This will form the basis upon which the student will choose his/her school and programme of study.
When the student is able to decide on which course and at which university or college, he/she is then provided with the necessary application forms and assisted in filling them. ACES will then forward the forms to the university and makes follow-up on the progress of work on the application. Any further information the school may need will readily be communicated to the student so that the school is fed with. |

Student Visa Counselling |
| |
|
| |
Another important thing in one’s ability to study in a foreign land is his/her eligibility to live in that country. Most countries will require that one has a residence permit (visa). Getting admission from a school in a country does not necessarily mean one is entitled to a visa to that country.
The clarity of information disclosed on the visa application form and documentation attached to it plays a vital role in one’s successfulness in acquiring a visa. For this reason ACES visa counselling staff assists students to ensure that application forms, questionnaires and supporting documentation are presented to the High Commission or embassy in a way that is transparent, clear and convincing. Students are also taken through mock interview sessions so as to increase their confidence towards the actual visa interview. |

Pre-departure Briefing |
| |
|
| |
You may find the experience of going to live in a foreign country confusing at first. Don't be surprised if, after the initial excitement of arriving in the country wears off, you find it strange or begin to miss home. Such emotions will quickly pass as you begin to get caught up in the hum of student life, make new friends and find exciting new interests. There are, however, steps you can take before arriving in your new country that will help. The more you know about the city or region you'll be living in, the better prepared you will be. For this reason, before students leave, we hold pre-departure briefings with them. Issues addressed include immigration and passport control procedures, how to get to schools, colleges and universities, financial matters, budget planning and cultural differences. |
